The situation in Central Kalimantan province illustrates the relationship between oil palm expansion and timber production, as well as weaknesses found in the Ministry of Forestry’s statistics. Around the year 2000n, the Province experienced a rapid expansion of plantations and had a higher deforestation rate than other provinces in Indoesia.PIK Kalteng issued the results of IPK investigations in the Central Kalimantan Province.
