Logs were discovered by the South Sumatra Regional Police (Water and Air Police) Police Department on April 18, 2018 in the waters of the Musi Banyuasin river, South Sumatra. These logs suspected as the result of illegal logging.

According to the news reported by the news.detik.com media, logs that has been tied to rafts consists of various types. The most meranti and racuk species found are estimated worth Rp. 450 million.

Illegal logging activities in South Sumatra have indeed been going on for a long time, and the Musi Banyuasin river is the main route of this activity.

Not yet known who the mastermind behind the illegal logging. The process of pursuing the suspects is still being carried out by the North Sumatra Regional Police Headquarters.
